From the Office of Our CEO- Renee Hardman

Meet Renee Hardman, BBBSCI’s Chief Executive Officer!

I am excited and honored to be leading Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa as the 50-year-old organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. My history with this organization spans nearly two decades. As a Big Sister of a young girl from Sierre Leone in West Africa, Big Sister of the year in 1996, and board member for close to eight years, I have experienced the organization in many different ways. The most compelling one, however, is definitely mentoring my Little Sister for more than ten years.

My Little Sister is Joella Spaine, and we were matched when she was just six years of age. Today, she’s 40! Our mentoring relationship didn’t end when she graduated East High School; we stayed connected throughout her college experience. We are still very close.

Little did I know one day I’d be asked to lead the organization that has poured so much into my life.

I am keenly aware of how impactful it is for young people to have positive mentors in their lives. Big Brothers Big Sisters does just that. We mentor youth as individuals, duos and families. We have close to 150 young people waiting for someone like you to make a positive difference in their lives.

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary of making a difference here in Central Iowa, please consider how you may partner with us by being a volunteer and/or a donor. Any amount you choose to give will help us fulfill our mission. Please read below to learn how you can help further our mission and get more of those 150 kids on the waiting list matched with a mentor by attending our 50th Anniversary Gala event on October 27.

I am eager and excited to serve by giving of my time, talent and treasure to improving the life of our most precious asset –our YOUTH. Please join me in this impactful work.

Can’t wait to meet you!

Warmest regards,

Renee Hardman, CEO
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa
