11th Annual Hy-Vee Fishing Derby!

The Hy-Vee Kids Fishing Derby is an event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa. Each year, children and families gather at Waterworks Park the to enjoy a day of free fishing, fun and prizes. Hy-Vee is the headline sponsor for this event, which attracts more than 30,000 people each year and creates scores of local publicity opportunities. More than 200 people volunteer to help make the event a success. The 11th Annual Hy-Vee Fishing Derby takes place Saturday, May 19th. For each fish the children catch, they will win a fabulous prize! Be sure to come out early enough to get a good spot. Fishing starts at 8 a.m.
