Big Appreciation Event
We want to thank you for everything you do for the Littles in our program!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa clearly would not exist without the support of our mentors. Without our Bigs, we would not be able to make such a lasting impact on the children in Central Iowa. In recognition of you and to show our appreciation for all you do, please join us on Tuesday, January 31 at the Keg Stand in West Des Moines from 6 to 8 p.m.
Volunteer Spotlight
Ross Peterson has been instrumental in getting BBBSCI on the airways.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa we are so thankful for all of our mentors and volunteers. With their help we are able to serve more children and make a bigger impact in Central Iowa. One volunteer who has helped spread the word about BBBSCI all over Central Iowa is Ross Peterson. Ross is a producer for Clear Channel Radio in Des Moines and has done his best to ensure our message reaches the listeners in our area.

President Obama Proclaims January 2012 National Mentoring Month
Every day, mentors help young Americans face the challenges of growing into adulthood. By setting a positive example and sharing their time, knowledge and experience, mentors play an essential role in preparing our Nation's youth for a bright future. During National Mentoring Month, we celebrate the contributions of all those who cultivate a supportive environment for the next generation, and we recommit to expanding mentorship opportunities across our country.
