
Future Pathways
Future Pathways is designed to guide Pathways Fellows (mentees) on a journey of self-discovery, skill development, and goal setting with the support of their Pathway Coaches (mentors). Fellows are young adults (between the ages of 18-22).
The program comprises 4 quarters, each with specific goals and activities aimed at helping Pathway Fellows explore and choose a life path, acquire essential life skills, and take steps toward their chosen pathways.
When is Future Pathways?
-Monthly meetings between Pathways Coaches, Pathways Fellow, and Future Pathways Coordinator- Ahmed Musa.
-Highly encouraged attendance at monthly program/workshops hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.
Become a Pathways Coach
Volunteer as a Pathways Coach and share your knowledge and skills with young adults.
Responsibilities include:
-Fostering a supportive and nurturing relationship with your Pathways Fellow.
-Providing guidance and insight to your Fellow's chosen path.
-Helping Fellow set and achieve their goals.
-Encouraging Fellow to complete their life path and life skills checklists.
-Facilitating discussions, workshops, and activities as needed.
-Attending monthly meetings and quarterly reviews with your fellow.
