In just eight months of being matched, Carrie has already demonstrated the kind of commitment and consistency that changes a young person's life. When her Little, Kai, was entered a residential mental health treatment program in May, Carrie did not step back from the relationship. Instead, she leaned in.

On the day Kai was admitted, Carrie accompanied Kai and her family through the intake process, providing comfort and support during a difficult and emotional transition. Since then, she has remained a steady presence in Kai's life, maintaining near daily phone contact and making regular visits to see her at the facility. Even while balancing work travel and other responsibilities, Carrie has continued to show up consistently, ensuring Kai knows she has a trusted adult in her corner who cares about her and believes in her.

Throughout Kai's treatment journey, Carrie has celebrated every step forward, no matter how small. As Kai slowly began making progress and earned opportunities for off-campus visits, Carrie continued to encourage her, expressing how proud she is of the hard work Kai is doing. Her words, "I am very proud and grateful to support her" and "I am blessed to help," reflect the genuine care and dedication she brings to the match.

Carrie's unwavering support during one of the most challenging periods in Kai's life exemplifies the power of mentorship. By remaining present, dependable, and encouraging, she is showing Kai that she is not facing her struggles alone. Her commitment is a powerful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful thing a mentor can do is simply keep showing up.
